ABOUT
Initiated in Istanbul in 2018 by artist Mimiko,
SyncSociety is a phygital art network which creates and propagates content.
In order to build the physical presence of SyncSociety, Mimiko transformed their family apartment located in Cihangir into a hybrid space called SYNChouse. Rather than being conceived as an art space, SyncHouse is a ‘speakeasy’ project house accommodating get-togethers syncing art, artists and artworks with a wide range of audience.
In the physical realm
SyncSociety hosts artistic events (exhibitions, networking apéros, artist talks, workshops…) at Mimiko’s family apartment transformed into SYNChouse, a ‘speakeasy’ project house accommodating get-togethers syncing art and artists with a wide range of audience. SYNChouse is a hybrid and shared space combining art space and home, sustaining SyncSociety’s operations by renting the bedroom to art lover travelers.
In the digital realm
SyncSociety creates photo and video content for the promotion and visibility of artists and their practice, collaborating with traditional art space structures when necessary, and propagates these contents through its social media network.
